Maldivian blue lake, Salda

Discover the incredible zone, most similar as Mars planet geography

Travelogue

I don't know when human beings go to planet Mars, but the dream of reaching Mars has been keeping scientists busy enough for years. One of the two places where most the Magnezit found, and naturally the most similarity with Mars geology, is located within the boundaries of Yesilova, 64 km west of Burdur province. This is the place where recently referred to as the Maldives of Turkey, known Lake Salda. The lake, which has multiple shades of blue, has created a very nice contrast with magnesia clay mud, spreading from lake inside to outside and from light yellow to grey, so that enables it as an eye-catching tropical paradise atmosphere.

On the second weekend of July 2018, we set out to see at the lake itself and would get in touch with the lake around naturality instead of photographs, to discover the natural soul of Salda with Olympos mounteneering club friends from Izmir. We stayed at the public beach and public tent camp by Yesilova municipality on the shore of Lake for the camping Saturday. You will find a grocery store, toilet and cafeteria. I would rather prefer camping away from crowds and noise to feel the night calm. Although we are at the lake side near Mediterranean, you need to buy something to protect you from the night chilliness. Starting from public beach of Yesilova through the northwest direction to ride approximately 20 kilometers around the lake, the road takes you famous turquoise blue water and yellow-colored sand to take your eyes, so you'll come to the Maldivian Bay. The shades of breathtaking blue whip our desire to integrate with the lake. As you come to the shore of the lake, hard clay soil becomes a mud and slime. Since both the lake water and the mud are said to be good for skin diseases, some of our group are trying to get covered in the mud and then clean with lake water. The turquoise sea like water is not salty because it is very enjoyable to swim without burning your eyes. Salda Lake is a protected nature park, located in the immediate vicinity of the lakes of Burdur and Egirdir, called the Lakes region. In the summer heat above 30 degrees, I was amazed when I found out that there was a ski resort with a view of the lake, and you should include your trip plan to enjoy all seasons and the purity of the turquoise color, the virginity of the Anatolian geography. Come to enjoy it
