Travelogue
While we were dreaming of Paris in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, we found ourselves in the middle of a crowded traffic, towards the hotel where we will stay with the car we rented. It was interesting that a city with a population of about 2 million has a traffic density close to Istanbul with 16 million people. It means that people learn how to go on traffic and live relaxed in such big metropolises without planning, we finally arrived at the hotel with a delay. Ibis budget Paris Porte de Vincennes, we chose this hotel because it was 5-6 km from the Louvre Museum and Notra Dame Cathedral and a few minutes from the metro stations that would take us there.
To discover an unfamiliar city, you need to learn the transportation network well in advance. So we did. We decided that we could go anywhere with the Paris Metro, which has a history of 120 years. Being able to land without missing the station on interlocking lines like spider webs requires caution. Let me state that they say that the Paris Metro, along with the London Metro, is the second busiest in Europe after the Moscow Metro. Due to the fact that such a historical and busy metro network does not provide elevator service, moving the stroller up and down strengthened our muscles.
The closest station to the Louvre museum is Louvre Rivoli and Palais Royal Musée du Louvre, which are on line 1, and entered through a shopping center and under the Glass Pyramid. When we had Atlas in the stroller with us, we had the chance to enter without waiting in line. It is so large and detailed that it is impossible to visit in one day. The meaning for us was perhaps the dream of seeing Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa painting, but while we were wandering, we had prepared by choosing from the catalog which priceless works of art we would see inside. The Mona Lisa painting, which we found by following the arrows and colors, was looking at visitors through a bulletproof glass as if teleporting to the beginning of the 1500's when it was made. The painting depicting the ancient period dated 1600 years, showing Romus and Romulus, the brothers who are considered to be the first founders of the Roman Empire, was interesting. The portrait of Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha excited as if he had seen his living creature.
Near the Louvre museum, the Orsay Museum is actually an old train station, next to the Sein river. If you are passionate about painters, for example artists of very valuable paintings such as Renoir, Monet, Kilimt and Van Gogh, you should see this place.
We reached the Notre Dame Cathedral by walking by the Sein river for about 20.25 minutes to experience the story of the humpback that loves the notre Dame de Paris gypsy girl Esmeralda, the impressive musical of Victor Hugo's work. For a little romantic, a little historical view of streets, cafes and restaurants, either get on the boats going down the Sein river or walk like us. Give yourself a coffee, dive and go. Leaving Notra Dame behind, we took the metro and came to the symbol of Paris, the Eiffel. Although we wanted to come in an eager way and watch Paris from the top, when we saw the endless queues in front of the 3 entrances, we preferred to sit in the garden and watch the view from below.
And for a panoramic photo of the Champs Elysees, the Champs Elysees, or Champs-Elysées, where the famous shops are located, a bustling street illuminated by yellow lights at night, we went to the Victory Arch.
It is a monument of Nopolyon to immortalize a great memory of victory. In front of it is the Arc de Triomphe, which was built in a mausoleum meaning an inexhaustible fire in memory of those who died in the First World War. We could not find the entrance door of the Victory Arch, which coincides with the intersection of 12 streets, even though we turned around for a tour, but we learned that Şanselize Street had an entrance through a mutual underpass on both sides. Especially in the evening, you can not get enough of the beautifully illuminated Eiffel Tower. Of course, we were able to go to the viewing terrace for a fee of 12 euros. Stairs if you wish, an elevator if you wish, and of course if you fold in the queue. The Pantheon in ancient Greek and Roman history, which means the temple of all mythological gods and goddesses, is a structure that began to be built in Paris in the 1750s, and its importance is Voltaire and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, writers Emile Zola and Victor Hugo, the creator of the braille alphabet Louis Braille The commemoration of other important characters, such as the nobel physicist Marie Curie, with mausoleums, statues, mausoleums and frescoes.
Yes, now our way is towards the Painters' Hill, also known as Place du Tertre, or Montmarte Hill. To climb the hill, you have two options that are enjoyable like a funicular and one that is tiring like a staircase. It was supposed to be T-Ticket purchased from machines at metro stations. We chose the tiring one. As he climbed, he made Atlas meet the adorable black twins. When we climbed the hill, it was enjoyable to sit on the stairs of the Sacre-Coeur basilica and watch the view. We couldn't leave without painters drawing a picture on top of it. Atlas had a charcoal drawing memory.
The last point of discovery that we will tell and fascinates us was the Palace of Versailles with its magnificent size. Half an hour by train to here
